Salmon - new ingredient for John. Actually was not planned to cook this porridge but bought a cut of salmon and we were invited to a dinner, so cooked it for John instead. As usual, I cooked the fish separately then mix together with porridge and other ingredients. This time I cooked fish in Japanese fish stew style, but ingredients were similar steamed fish. John loved tofu in this porridge very much. I thought that the veggies should be cut into smaller size, was bit worry John might have problem eating it but he was alright.
I have observed that John has gained chewing ability, I let him bite the banana instead of scraping and feeding with a spoon.

I read that some babies also allergy to tofu (soy) so I gave tofu to Jonathan when he was 8 months onwards.
You can try to substitute leafy vege with broccoli.
Hi Julie,
I also gave John tofu when he reached 8mths. He tried broccoli before, wanna let him try some leafy veges (more varieties). I cook the same vege again today, but chopped it finely.
Btw, how do you wash broccoli? I like broccoli but those insects hiding inside turned me off.
cheers,
Lydia
I hardly see insects inside the broccoli I bought. I'm using the vege wash (liquid detergent safe for vege) to wash away the whitish stain. When I cut the florets to cook, I wash again.
Hi Lydia,

julie,
I always see insects hiding between florets and have to use toothpick to "pick" them out. :D
Mery,
Thanks, will try your method. One of my friends suggested to soak broccoli in soda water... not sure it helps or not, I yet to try it.
Btw, I added tofu just before the porridge is ready to be served. If cooking tofu for long, it will turns harder.
cheers,
Lydia
